Goodies from Harry's
Here is some of the loot from our trip to HARRY's FARMERS MARKET. I have been keeping a mental tally of items that I wanted to try. I have been enjoying Caitlin's blog (Healthy Tipping Point) so much and she has raved about Justin's nut butters so that was a must. Also, I have been itching to try CHIA seeds since seeing them online, I had never heard of them before but I love poppy seeds and the crunch to a fig newton and strawberry/blackberry jam so I am betting I will love them too. I know for me one of the keys to maintaining healthy eating patterns is VARIETY. I love to try new foods so this is EXCITING for me!
The sparkling pineapple hibiscus drink was an impulse purchase and it hit the spot!

Something is Fishy
Dinner tonight at Colombian restaurant. For anyone who knows me this is a HUGE stretch from the norm. I eat very little meat in general but definitely avoid meat on the bone. For some reason though fish has its own set of rules. It was quite tasty (and a giant 1lb portion that I couldn't finish) but the beans with the plantains were still my favorite. I do have an obsession with beans and peas. Then the husband and I went to Harry's farmers market for the first time. Unfortunately we only got there 30 minutes before closing so we had to hurry. This probably was good for our wallets though!

Rainy Tuesday
Struggled through my pre-dawn cardio on the elliptical this AM, not sure if I was still wiped out from the session with my trainer last night or I was just being lazy because I know I have to go back to work tonight. But...I made it through thanks to some recently downloaded tunes.
Next the sun had come up but was hiding behind some rain clouds. I love a good RAIN! The birds were chirping and I left the back door open to enjoy the sounds and fresh air while I made some SUN-DRIED tomato hummus and cleaned the kitchen.
Breakfast of champions: Roasted pork loin, garlic, and broccoli in marinara with side of asparagus in BBQ sauce *this was a new and amazing treat. I never thought to put BBQ sauce on veggies until I saw it on Caitlin's blog. I must say this is a repeat for sure!!! Oh and before you judge about me eating this for "breakfast" remember I am a night-shifter ; ) K, Thanks!

Lentil loaf, Toothless killer, and Orange monster
An "Orange Monster" my spin off on the green monster smoothie. Cooked sweet potato, carrot, almond milk, banana, ice cubes, cinnamon, protein powder.
Delicious salad at lunch chock full of everything in my fridge = )
Brought Killer home from the vet this afternoon, she underwent a tooth cleaning and FIVE tooth extraction. Yikes! She was sitting on the front porch and hesitated to come in the house. I am hoping she will get back to her peppy self soon. I have been missing her tail wag!
Was craving something sweet this morning so I mixed some cocoa powder into my peanut butter and slathered it on my toast with a banana. It hit the spot!
Lentil loaf and a salad for dinner last night.
Eeeew! Lentil loaf looks so nasty but tastes so GOOD!
Did TREADMILL today, even was able to run a mile straight now at 4.6mph. Improvements happening daily. Then it was my day with Joey *my trainer. We worked out LEGS and ABS. Nothing exciting for the evening...maybe I will watch some BONES *I am still catching up - on season 4.
